Privacy Policy
Last updated: 24 March 2026
1. Introduction
Afrigig ("we", "our", or "the Platform") respects your privacy. This policy describes how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our marketplace and related services. By using Afrigig, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
2. Information we collect
We collect information you provide (e.g. name, phone number, email, profile photo, location, and for providers: verification documents such as ID or CIPC, banking details, service categories, and pricing). We also collect usage data (e.g. how you use the app, device information, and logs), and we may use cookies or similar technologies where applicable.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to operate the marketplace (matching customers and providers, processing payments, enabling chat, and managing bookings), to verify providers and enforce our terms, to send notifications and updates, to improve our services and security, and to comply with legal obligations. We do not share your phone number with other users; communication happens in-app.
4. Sharing of information
We may share information with payment processors to complete transactions, with cloud and infrastructure providers that host our services, and with authorities when required by law or to protect rights and safety. We do not sell your personal information to third parties for marketing.
5. Data retention and security
We retain your data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide services, resolve disputes, and meet legal requirements. We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data; no system is completely secure, and you use the Platform at your own risk.
6. Your rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, or to object to certain processing. You can update profile and account details in the app. To exercise other rights or ask questions, contact us using the details provided in the app or on our website.
7. Children
The Platform is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children; if we learn we have done so, we will take steps to delete it.
8. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy and, where required, notify you. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
9. Contact
For privacy-related questions or requests, contact us through the contact details provided in the app or on our website.
