Terms of Service
Last updated: 24 March 2026
1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using Afrigig (the Platform), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform. We may update these terms from time to time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
2. Description of service
Afrigig is a marketplace that connects customers with service providers for on-demand or scheduled services. We do not employ providers; we facilitate bookings, payments, and communication. Providers are responsible for their own conduct, quality of work, and compliance with applicable laws.
3. Accounts and eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Platform. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Providers must submit required verification (e.g. ID or CIPC) and be approved by Afrigig before their listings are active.
4. Bookings and payments
Customers pay upfront through the Platform. Payments are held in escrow and released to the provider after job completion, subject to our cancellation and refund policies. Platform commission applies on completed jobs as set out in the app. Third-party payment gateway fees may apply and are non-refundable as stated in our payment policy.
5. Cancellation and no-show
Cancellation terms depend on booking type (scheduled vs same-day/urgent) and timing. Refunds and fees are applied as described in the app. No-show and late-arrival rules (e.g. grace periods, customer or provider no-show) apply as specified in the Platform and may result in fees or strikes.
6. Disputes
Disputes may be opened within the period stated in the app (e.g. 24 hours after completion). Payment may be frozen until resolution. Afrigig may facilitate resolution and make decisions (e.g. full or partial refund, provider payout) based on evidence submitted. Our decision in the dispute process is final for the purposes of the Platform.
7. Conduct and suspension
You may not use the Platform for illegal, fraudulent, or abusive purposes. We may suspend or terminate accounts, remove listings, and take other action to enforce these terms, our policies, and the safety of users. Provider strikes and suspension rules (e.g. after repeated cancellations) apply as set out in the app.
8. Limitation of liability
The Platform is provided as is. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Afrigig is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform or from the acts or omissions of providers or customers. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
9. Contact
For questions about these terms, contact us through the contact details provided in the app or on our website.
